Suspension of Disbelief
AP casts Rishkar's Expertise, can they suspend Ancestral Vision during the resolution of the spell? Yes. This is truly bizarre, but Suspend only stipulates that you are allowed to do it whenever you are able to cast a spell, and not only when you have priority. (CR 702.62a)

Cause and Effect
NAP casts Lost in Space targeting AP's Anticausal Vestige. What happens when the trigger resolves, if AP chooses to leave the Vestige on top of their library? AP will draw Anticausal Vestige, and can put it back into play if they have enough lands! More interestingly, what if AP doesn't do this, and instead draws a card and puts the Vestige on top afterwards? This is certainly a GRV, AP has incorrectly resolved Lost in Space, however there's an argument here for a GRV for NAP as well, since they have some owness in their spell resolving correctly. (IPG 2.5)

You're Not my Real Mom
NAP controls Elesh Norn, Mother of Machines. AP plays Urza's Saga, and would like to know if the lore counter is still placed on it, and if they get the subsequent triggered saga ability. Yes, the lore counter isn't a trigger so it would be placed on the saga, and the ability triggers as a result of the lore counter being put on the permanent, not as a result of the saga entering the battlefield. Understandably, the saga entering did cause the lore counter to be placed on, but to determine the "cause" of something the game doesn't look that far into the past.

Sunday – Side Events Floor Judge

True Calling
NAP cast Into the Flood Maw choosing to gift NAP a tapped fish, and choosing to target NAP's Warleader's Call. What happens? The effect of the gift happens upon resolution but before the other text on the spell. NAP will create a tapped fish, Warleader's Call will trigger, but the trigger won't go on the stack just yet. Then NAP will return Warleader's Call to their hand, Into the Flood Maw will finish resolving and go into AP's graveyard, and then NAP will put the trigger onto the stack. (CR 702.174a, CR 603.2a)

Loose Life Totals Cost Games
AP was resolving Ad Nauseum and flipped a card, they marked themselves down to one life, but NAP mentioned they thought AP was dead. NAP's life totals were correct. AP hadn't been announcing life totals as they flipped for Ad Nauseum so NAP never noticed the life pad was wrong. In this case there's really no avenue here for AP to not lose the game, they tracked their own life total incorrectly.

Casting Steps
AP casts Swords to Plowshares on NAP's Kappa Cannoneer, before AP finishes tapping for their spell, NAP says "it has ward". AP no longer wants to cast Swords to Plowshares, so they call for a judge. This one is super awkward, and I think there are a lot of nuances that would change this ruling, if NAP really jumped the gun here, then it's kind of on them, and AP would be allowed to take back their spell, since we kind of don't generally force players to tap mana. If it's clear for some reason what mana they were going to tap, I think locking them into tapping that mana wouldn't be unreasonable, however.

Conqueror of MTGMelee
Near the end of the day I was typing up top 8 decklists and noticed that when I attempted to enter in Clarion Conqueror, MTGMelee's autofill gave me the option to input Clarion Conqueror//Clarion Conqueror, as if it was a split card. I accidentally chose that one, but when I went to remove it from the list, instead it doubled the number of copies in the list. After clicking around a bit I figured out that the way to remove it was to in fact, click to add copies to the deck.

ODE Tech
Commander pods are always a bit messy, for this show we had players sign their names on the sheets and then they'd be directed to a table number that was written on top of the sheet to sit and wait for the pod to fill up. Pods were filling up fast enough that people often didn't need to wait long, so this worked quite well. Every now and again the ODE judge would go and scout out empty tables to use for new pods. At this size of show I think this is a pretty good strategy for running ODEs.

...In Conclusion
I had a good time overall at this show. It was kind of nice to not have any significant responsibilities and to just be able to basically fill in wherever I was needed.
